Seed & Stone Builders was founded by Rob and Cissa North, a husband-and-wife team united by a shared love of craftsmanship, intentional design, and the belief that a home should be truly good for the people living in it.
Rob North is a master builder, Marine veteran, and television host with over 26 years of hands-on construction experience. He started his career as a journeyman carpenter in Chicago, developing a deep mastery of materials, structure, and timeless building techniques. His discipline and precision — first shaped by service in the United States Marine Corps — have carried through every home he has built. Many know Rob from television, including appearances on HGTV, CW, Netflix, and as a longtime host on BYUtv's The Fixers. For over seven years, he was also the trusted face of Craftsman Tools. Rob doesn't just talk about the work — he does it.
Cissa North is a co-founder, strategist, and the creative heart behind each home's design vision. Originally from Brazil, she moved to the DC area at 17 and brings over 20 years of expertise in business and finance — paired with a deep artistic sensibility as a singer-songwriter. Cissa is passionate about healthy living, sustainable materials, and honoring the environment. Her belief that a home should nourish the people inside it — and respect the world outside — is at the core of everything Seed & Stone builds.
Together, Rob and Cissa grew frustrated watching half-million-dollar homes being built with poor quality, unhealthy materials, and no soul. They moved away from the city — drawn to the clean air, mountains, and natural beauty of the WV/VA/MD region — and founded Seed & Stone Builders to offer something better: homes that are beautifully designed, healthier to live in, and built to last for generations.
