Building healthy homes for your family
Most homes today are built to sell, not to last.
Drive through any new development in America and you will see it everywhere. Street after street of identical facades, the same four floor plans repeated endlessly, built as fast as possible with the cheapest materials the market will bear. They photograph well. They close quickly. And then, slowly, they begin to reveal what they are really made of.
Synthetic materials that off-gas chemicals into the air your children breathe. Moisture-trapping wall systems that quietly grow mold behind drywall for years before anyone knows it's there. Families dealing with chronic fatigue, respiratory issues, and unexplained illness — never connecting it to the house that was supposed to be their safe place. The epidemic of mold poisoning and poor indoor air quality in American homes is real, it is serious, and it is largely preventable. The big builders are not talking about it. We are.
Seed & Stone was born from a different belief — that a home should be one of the best things that ever happens to a family. Not just financially, though that matters deeply to us. But physically. Emotionally. Generationally.
We are family people. Rob and Cissa built this company the way they try to live — with their values front and center, and the people they love as the reason for all of it. They know what it means to want a home that is truly safe for your children. A place where your family can breathe clean air, sleep well, and grow up healthy. A place that reflects who you actually are — not a floor plan chosen from a laminated sheet in a sales trailer.
Rob has been building for over 25 years. A United States Marine Corps veteran, he came home from service with a standard for excellence that has never left him — and poured it into every home he has touched since. Most people know him from television. As the longtime star of The Fixers on BYUtv, previously seen on HGTV's Design and Sell, and as the national spokesman for Craftsman Tools for over a decade, Rob has spent his career in front of audiences who trust him to tell the truth about how things are built. He builds the way he was trained to live — with precision, pride, and no tolerance for cutting corners.
Cissa brings a perspective that is entirely her own. With over two decades in business and finance, she understands what a home means as a long-term investment — and what it costs a family when that investment is built on a shaky foundation. She thinks in decades, not quarters.
But Cissa is also an artist. Born in Brazil, she is a singer-songwriter who has always understood that beauty is not superficial — it is essential. That sensibility lives in the way she approaches design: spaces that feel warm and elevated without being cold or untouchable, where natural materials, light, and thoughtful details come together in a way that moves you. She believes a home should feel the way a great song does — like it was made just for you.
Together, Rob and Cissa founded Seed & Stone to build something they couldn't find anywhere else. A company where craftsmanship and health are never in competition. Where beauty and sustainability are the same conversation. Where family values are not a marketing slogan — they are the foundation everything else is built on.
They are building with hempcrete. With low-toxicity finishes. With breathable wall systems that resist mold, regulate humidity naturally, and create the kind of indoor environment that modern conventional building simply cannot match. Every material is chosen with one question in mind: would we put this in our own home, around our own family? If the answer is anything less than an absolute yes, it doesn't make the cut.
They are building homes that stand apart — in character, in quality, and in the way they make you feel — from the moment you walk through the door to the decades of life lived inside them. Homes that will still be standing, and still be beautiful, long after the cookie-cutter developments down the road have aged out and been forgotten.
This is what Seed & Stone means. A seed planted with intention. A stone laid with care. A home built for the long, healthy, beautiful life your family deserves.
